Just a day after Nvidia CEO announced the GeForce GTX Max-Q project, their latest initiative to bring high-end gaming performance to thinner laptop designs, Asus has jumped onboard with their latest ROG(Republic of Gamers) series Laptops the Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501VI and Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501VS.
Both these latest ROG laptops from Asus features the latest Intel Core i7-7700HQ chipset and Nvidia’s latest GTX 1080 Max-Q graphics card. The main highlight of these latest ROG laptops from Asus is their size, both these laptops are just 1.7cm thick at maximum and weigh just around 2.2 kilograms.
In recent times, Asus has managed to bring out quite some quality laptops into the market featuring in almost every popular price range. The Asus Republic Of Gamers or ROG series of laptops is the manufacturer’s lineup of premium gaming high-performance laptops. And with the latest Zephyrus GX501VI and Zephyrus GX501VS, Asus has managed to bring the super high-performance that we love from previous Asus ROG laptops to a slimmer and lightweight design.
The main challenge for a thinner and lightweight design when it comes to laptops featuring high-performance graphics card is heat dissipation. And in order to keep the latest Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501VI and Zephyrus GX501VS thin and lightweight even when featuring the Nvidia GTX 1080 Max-Q graphics card, Asus has chosen to feature its AAS (Active Aerodynamic System) for cooling purpose. This not only cools the graphics engine efficiently but also keeps it quiet.
Apart from that, the design also plays a major role in cooling. According to Asus, the design of the latest Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501VI and Zephyrus GX501VS allows up to 20% increase in airflow to the components.
