- First, open the Netflix app on your smartphone and browse through it to find the video you desire to download.
- Check whether it is available for offline download.
- If the offline download is available, a “Download” button with the symbol will be shown next to My List and Share options below the description.
- If the video does not support offline download, then this button won’t show and you just have to give up and find other videos you want to download.
- Now if the Download is available, just tap on it and the download will start.
- A blue progress ring will show up and indicates the progress of the current download. You can tap it to stop the download if you want.
- The download will complete fast depending on the network you are connected to and once it’s done, you can tap the blue bar at the bottom to view it.
- That’s it, you now have the video downloaded for offline viewing. Now, whenever you want to watch it, you can head to “My Downloads” section to find it. This will also work while you are offline.
Extra: Video Quality Settings
You can adjust the quality of downloaded videos before downloading. By default, it is always in Standard quality. It won’t be bad but if you want the best quality, you can set a better option. Follow the steps below for that:
- In the Netflix app, swipe left to open up the Menu and go to the App Settings.
- Then go to Video Quality option below the Downloads section there.
- Select Higher from those options. You can change it back to Standard when you want.
