Aloe gel helps to maintain the natural moisture of the skin by lingering down the natural evaporative process and drawing moisture from the atmosphere. It retards the aging process, rejuvenates the damaged skin, sloughs off old dead cells and cleans the clogged skin pores. Aloe Vera detoxifies the skin by removing wastes and toxins. It is naturally rich in vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that nourish the skin. Aloe Vera’s anti-aging properties can be attributed to the plant’s amazing capacity to accelerate the production of fibroblast cells that manufacture collagen, which keeps the skin firm and wrinkle-free. Aloe vera does not merely form a cover over our skin but takes its healing and moisturizing processes within by penetrating deep inside the skin.
Homemade Aloe Vera Hand Sanitizer
The best preventive measure for H1N1, common cold and flu infections is to wash your hands with water and soap. Imagine yourself coming out of a crowded grocery shop and your child badly wants something to munch on. You went to watch a movie and your family wants popcorns in the middle of the show. Your child goes to school and you know for sure that he would never wash his hands before opening the lunch box. What would you do when water and soap are not available and you have the deadly germs sticking on your hands . At crowded places like market, shopping malls, gas pump, public bathrooms, school, library and offices it is always useful to keep a homemade alcohol free hand sanitizer handy.
Why a Homemade Hand Sanitizer?
Commercially available sanitizers contain chemical fragrances that contain phthalates which are known to cause reproductive complications. Polyethylene glycol used in hand sanitizers contain 1,4 dioxane a suspected carcinogen. Many hand sanitizers have triclosan an antibacterial agent which is known to be associated with abnormalities with the endocrine system particularly with thyroid hormone signaling, weakening of the immune system, birth defects, uncontrolled cell growth and unhealthy weight loss. In the beginning triclosan kills bacteria but on prolonged use the notorious bacteria such as e.coli, salmonella, shigella and other intestinal bacteria develop resistant against it and then it becomes difficult to treat them. Instead of reducing the risk of infection such antibacterial products actually augment it by supporting the growth of resistance bacteria. Carbomer, aminomethyl propanol and benzalknonium chloride, are other hazardous chemicals often found in commercial hand sanitizers. Use of commercially available hand sanitizers invites the risk of loading ourselves with a lot of toxin.
Why an Alcohol Free Hand Sanitizer?
Alcohol based hand sanitizers contain large amount of alcohol. In order to be really effective against germs the hand sanitizer should contain at least 60% alcohol. This is a large amount sufficient enough to remove all the moisture off your skin and make it look dry. The high alcohol content can cause injuries and poisoning in children if injested. Therefore never ever keep an alcohol based hand sanitizer if you have small children at home.

Mix every thing well and dispense in a bottle. Keep one in your hand bag and another in your car so that it is always accessible to you.
