2. Set up a reading mode
This mode turns your screen to grayscale and provides you with a seamless reading experience – something similar to what Kindle provides. Head over to your phone’s Settings > Display > Reading mode.
It’s basically a Night Mode, but for specific apps – ones you get to choose and have Reading Mode kick in automatically whenever you open them.
3. Alert Slider- Switch the sound profiles with an easy slide.
The OnePlus 5 makes it easy to switch between sound profiles, with an Alert Slider at the side that flips between loud, vibrate and silent profiles. If you want to change any of those, just flip the slider and tap the cog icon that appears at the top of the screen.
It also comes with Bluetooth Audio Codec and to enable it on your device, go to phone’s Settings > Advanced > Bluetooth Audio Codec. So from now on, depending on Bluetooth headset you use, you can select either from SBC, aptX, or aptX HD.

Have you ever wanted to hide some files in your phone, so that no can see them nor do they show up in any file manager? This is where OnePlus’s native File Manager comes to the rescue again. It has a feature called “Secure Box” that hides your data from any file explorer and can only be accessed with a password.
To send a file to the Secure Box, long press on it, tap on the three-dot menu, and then select ‘Set as Secure’

6. The Inbuilt App Locker
To prevent unauthorised access to certain apps OnePLus contains an inbuilt feature of app lock. This makes it much more secure than the third-party apps that overlay a lock screen on top of your apps rather than locking them natively. This is not an OnePlus 5 Tricks, but one of the best feature of OnePlus 5!
You can lock certain apps by going to your phone’s Settings > Security & fingerprint > App locker. You can choose the apps that you want to be locked and no one can access it without entering the password.
7. Pro Mode Camera
The OnePlus 5 Camera features a Pro Mode camera feature that lets you control manual settings. While these features might be handy for some, not everyone will find useful. Thankfully, you can disable them all.
OnePlus 5’s Pro Mode lets you save RAW images as well. To do that, simply tap on the “RAW” button that appears on the top of the screen.
8. Get your play on with Gaming DND!
OnePlus is clearly as sick and tired as we are of being interrupted by notifications while planning out which card to play next in a heated game of Hearthstone – it’s why the OnePlus 5 has a Do Not Disturb Mode saved specifically for games. That’s pretty cool, isn’t?
While you’re gaming, it can block notifications and disable the capacitive buttons and if you don’t fancy being chucked back to the home screen because of an accidental tap, you can lock the capacitive buttons as well.
9. Choose your own incoming call vibration pattern
If you watched the launch event of OnePlus 5, you must have heard a mention of vibration patterns. OnePlus improved greatly upon their vibration motor with a much sharper and quieter one.
To do that, go to Settings > Sound & Vibration > Incoming call vibration pattern and choose your own incoming vibration pattern for incoming calls.
10. Saves battery
there are various other ways that can help you save battery on your OnePlus 5.
